Benefits of LIMS
Gone are the days when Analysts manually formatted Certificates of Analysis with tools like Microsoft Word and Excel! Today, professional Analysts rely on LIMS to simplify the entire process, from Inward Samples Registration to Certificates generation. Most LIMS installations also contain modules for managing Customer Accounts with e-Receipts, e-Invoices and Customer Accounts Statements generated at the click of a button.

1. ELECTRONIC SAMPLES REGISTRATION/PROCESSING
Anapro (LIMS-ERP) and Thawte (LIMS-EBR) allow,
- An infinite number of Samples to be logged on its database,
- Test results to be entered against specific samples.
- Preformatted Result summaries (Certificates) generated on request.
SIMPLICITY
The process of registering a sample and processing it is made to be as simplified as possible. Once a sample has been logged, it remains on the system forever and can be called at the click of a button. Hence once you start using LIMS you go beyond carrying out tests. Previous Results are always available for comparisons with new ones.
CONTROL
Certificate IDs are instantly generated upon Registration. The ID contains randomly generated alphanumeric characters as well as serial number of the sample within current month. This serves to enhance Control. For example, the Sample shown below is the 2nd sample registered in November 2015.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Customer Accounts are directly tied to Samples Registration. Where applicable, the Customer's Account is automatically debited when Samples are registered in their names. When the Customer pays, a Receipt is issued. The Customer is at liberty to make advanced payments for Samples yet unlogged. But overall Debtors list, Creditors List and Customer Account Statements are always available.
2. TAMPER-PROOF HOLOGRAPHIC CERTIFICATES
 Certificates generated within Anapro LIMS-ERP now embossed with encrypted holograms. This makes it possible for regulators and third-parties to easily verify authenticity using decryption Software.
3. RAW DATA SET EXPORT
LIMS-compliant Analytical Labs can now send Test Result Data via Email to LIMS-compliant customers. Before the Certificate arrives the customer imports the data into their own LIMS installation with a button click, thereby storing the Result in Electronic form. The facility also features screens for historical and Batch-to-Batch comparisons of Results.
4. FLEXIBILITY
Anapro LIMS-ERP ships with nearly 2000 Testing Parameters (with Methods, Range and Limits) for over 200 Sample types. At the point of Registering Samples, the user selects the appropriate Template (Sample type), The system then automatically appends the appropriate parameters to the sample.
The flexibility of defining Parameters to be Tested is virtually limitless. You can add and remove Parameters for samples before printing out your Lab Worksheet or before inputting Test Results. You can create special Samples for frequent Customers who want specific Parameters. You can even edit the Parameters after Results have been entered.
5. NETWORK-BASED WORKFLOW CONGRUENCY
LIMS allows several resource persons to work together over a Network in a way that manual Systems can never match:
- Multiple Analysts can be working on the same Sample from different locations.
- Analysts can enter Results from their own Computers without necessarily leaving the Lab.
- An Analyst can enter a Test Result assigned to him without having to collate with others working on the same sample.
- Once all Results have been entered the System makes the Certificate printable at Admin.
- Accounts can be completely separated from Laboratory.
- Marketers can download and work on Customer profiles without having to recourse to Accounts.
The clear definition and partitioning of activity greatly promotes efficiency, in that responsibilities are better pin-pointed than in a vaguely collaborative context where Managers have no way of appraising resource persons individually.
6. E-CERTIFICATES
Apart from printed copies, LIMS allows for Test Certificates to be generated in formats that can be mailed to the customer.
7. JOBS MANAGEMENT
LIMS makes the retrieval and management of previous customer jobs easy. Jobs can be searched by Date, Month, Customer or Sample type.
